| Myles Margady - Principal Myles Margady has over twenty years of experience in all phases of retirement and employee benefits planning and administration both as an attorney and consultant. Served as General Counsel for A.S. Hansen, Inc., an international employee benefits and actuarial consulting Firm, now a part of the Mercer organization, and as a Senior ERISA Attorney for Shearman & Sterling, a major New York law Firm. For the past ten years Myles has worked exclusively with public agencies in California and nationally to design and implement retirement and welfare programs. Advised over one hundred agencies on legal and technical matters relating to their participation in CalPERS and STRS and other specialized retirement and welfare benefit programs such as VEBAs or welfare benefit trusts that the agencies sponsor or participate in. Assisted in public agency efforts to defeat or pass legislation in Sacramento, including drafting legislative language. As a Principal in Public Agency Retirement Planning, Inc., Myles has advised numerous cities, counties, school districts and special districts on cost effective ways to provide retirement and welfare benefits, and in the formation of new joint power agencies and alternatives to Social Security.
